All Podiatrists at Biggleswade Podiatry are registered with the the Health and care professions council (HCPC). The HCPC protect the public by regulating 16 health and care professions

 
To do this They:
​

  • set standards for professionals' education and training and practice;

  • keep a register of professionals, known as 'registrants', who meet our standards; and

  • take action if professionals on our Register do not meet our standards.

The college of Podiatry (CoP) promotes guidelines and standards of practice that are evidence based, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness with a focus on outcomes.

They influence the governments of the four UK countries, ensuring they understand that podiatry encompasses specialist care, surgery, general practice and public health and that it makes a vital contribution to the health of the population. 

​

The CoP governs how a Podiatrist or Chiropodist should safely practice in the public sector.
