Here at Biggleswade podiatry we understand the importance of comfortable pain free feet. Whether you need bespoke orthotics to help with a biomechanical issue or simply need a nail cutting service. We treat all patients whether old or young, and we are also fully equipped to treat an array of foot related conditions. Our Podiatrists and Chiropodists aim to help you achieve comfortable pain free feet and give you back that bare foot confidence.

The Podiatry clinic is conveniently located behind the high street within walking distance to the central Biggleswade bus station. Our Podiatrists are all HCPC registered (Health and Care Professions Council) and have completed a university degree course in Podiatric Medicine. All our podiatrists are members of the Society of Chiropodist and Podiatrist and continue to stay up to date with the latest evidence based practice.

 

The Clinic operates an appointments system. Simply call in to the clinic to book or phone our reception which is open Mon-Fri 9am-12 noon, out of hours messages will be followed up the next working day.

The Biggleswade Podiatry and Chiropody Clinic provides treatments for all conditions of the lower limb. Whether it is a routine foot hygiene appointment, biomechanical assessments for orthotics or minor surgery for ingrowing toe nails. We are fully equipped to help with any problem which is presented in the clinic.

We offer professional advice and provide specialist treatment for a wide range of common foot problems such as:

About Us

Podiatric Assessment - Initial Assessment £60

All new patients undergo an initial assessment appointment where treatment is diagnosed and discussed. Dependent on the diagnosis, treatment may also be provided on the day.

General treatments for common feet problems £30-45

Warts, Verrucae, Ingrown toenails, Corns, Callous, Athlete's foot
Dry skin conditions, Fissures, Thickened toe nails, Fungal nails

Biomechanics and musculoskeletal assessment £90

Using a series of examinations, we will test ranges and quality of movement at the lower limb joints. Any dysfunction will be addressed and exercises may also be prescribed. This is an hour long examination which will require short clothing to be worn at the appointment.

Custom Prescription Insoles and Bespoke orthotics £90-£350 

(2yr insurance included for bespoke)

Made to measure insoles and fully bespoke casted orthoses are offered at our Biggleswade clinic. All prescriptions are followed by an individual examination. All daily footwear and sporting footwear can be accommodated for i.e. Cycling cleats, football boots, running trainers etc. all fully bespoke devices come with a 2 year insurance policy which includes refurbishments and adjustments of prescriptions in this period.

Verruca Needling £250

Minor surgery for the treatment of verrucae, using multiple punctures under local anaesthesia. This procedure aims to initiate a local immune response to fight off the viral infection Verruca plantae.

Nail Surgery from £400 (additional charges for multiple toes)

For the treatment of ingrown and ingrowing toenails. This procedure is performed under local anaesthesia which can take up to an hour for the appointment.

Nailcutting £30

In addition we offer a Simply nails service* for patients 
requiring only simple nail cutting at a much reduced fee. *Requires an initial full appointment to assess suitability.

Diabetic Foot assessments £65

Diabetes is a medical condition which affects the level of sugar/ glucose in the body. 
Symptoms such as tingling or numbness can often appear in the feet early in patients with diabetes.

Having qualified as a Podiatrist from the University of East London with a keen interest in Musculoskeletal disorders and Podiatric surgery. David carries out all aspects of podiatry and chiropody including nail surgery for ingrown toenails.

 

David originally qualified with a degree in sports science and worked as a sports coach before furthering his career in podiatry. All nail surgery and verruca surgery procedures are carried out under local anaesthetic. 

David provides all round Podiatric care (nail care, callus and corn debridement, verruca treatments and skin conditions)

Claire qualified as a podiatrist in 2005 from the University of Cardiff. After working for the NHS in London, Claire  progressed into education as Senior Lecturer in Podiatry for University of East London. Claire developed her clinical expertise alongside her academic role and completed an MSc in Advanced Practice and a PgCert in Podiatric Sports Medicine. This compliments her special interest running biomechanics and sporting injuries.  

 

Claire is a keen triathlete and coach and has represented GB Age Group in triathlon and aquathlon. Through her own experiences she understands the importance of keeping active and educating patients in injury prevention.
